Overlooking two secluded sandy beaches which are reached via a path and some steep steps, this beautifully kept parc is made up of grassy pitches, some of which are set on terraces. It also features a pleasant, spacious bar with wonderful views over the bay, which is the perfect spot for a leisurely drink and the scene of weekly discos in high season. There’s also a popular swimming pool, children’s pool and play area.
Part of the excellent ‘Castels’ group, this parc is ideal for overnight stops and longer stays alike. In either case, you are assured of a warm welcome. Lying amidst the unspoilt forests and rolling meadows of the Haute-Marne region of Champagne, the parc’s full range of modern facilities are housed within a beautifully converted 17th century forge building. These include a heated indoor pool as well as all the sports facilities you could ask for. In high season, the English speaking owners organise an extensive entertainment programme, with activities for children and adults alike. An incredibly spacious ‘Castels’ parc famed for its wonderful grounds and air of complete relaxation. The first thing that will strike you about this superb parc is the wonderful space and openness of the grounds. There are simply acres and acres for you to relax in and for the children to explore. The facilities are excellent too, including an impressive pool complex with waterslides and a separate pool for youngsters, not to mention the superb play area. The family proprietors are your hosts in the attractive bar and restaurant, and their personal approach is much in evidence throughout. The location is ideal for exploring, with l’Etang de la Brèche nearby as well as many outstanding châteaux also within easy reach. While you’re here we would particularly recommend visits to mighty Chinon and the very beautiful Azay-le-Rideau.
A delightfully quiet and tranquil parc with spectacular Alpine scenery on all sides. An ideal base from which to discover this beautiful area. La Ravoire is a lovely little parc with genuine charm and excellent facilities. The pool complex offers both family and children’s pools and a waterslide; yet it is the mountains surrounding Annecy and the azure waters of the lake that make it so special. La Ravoire is close to the southern tip of the lake and while the shore is close to the parc, beaches are just a short drive away for swimming and watersports. At the head of the lake, the little town of Annecy itself is utterly delightful and its 15th century centre has been beautifully preserved. While if you wish to explore the many alpine delights of the region, you really are ideally placed here.
With its lovely alpine setting, this is perfect for those seeking an active holiday. It’s also a popular choice for young families in low season. Set in the heart of the Alps, La Serraz naturally offers superb views of the mountains that surround it, which is particularly pleasant when swimming in the parc’s pools. Shimmering Lake Annecy is easily accessible from the parc, with a lake beach just 1km away and activities that include swimming, all sorts of watersports and pleasure boat trips. The village of Doussard is only a short walk away, with shops, a restaurant and a bar, which are especially useful when the parc’s facilities are closed in low season. Annecy itself, with its flower-lined canals and arcaded streets is a great attraction, while both Italy and Switzerland are just a short drive away.
